Silken Shadows

Well...thanks for being patient..I am back with this week's featured author: Jennifer St. Giles.

Her new release, Silken Shadows delves into the world of the supernatural as our heroine, psychic Gemini Andrews, follows Captain Deverell Jansen on his search for a vicious killer. He must learn to trust in the love that Gemini is so certain of, to save her and himself, from an impending doom.

If you think this book sounds suspenseful and exciting, you really should check out this awesome booktrailer!

Giles has been a member of GRW and and RWA since 1994. Her road to becoming a published author has won her many awards including The Maggie Award. To read more about Giles, check out her BYS bio.

Here is some words directly from this fabulous author herself about Silken Shadows:

Silken Shadows was a lot of fun to write because I'd been able to evolve the heroine through two books before she got to tell her story. Gemini is the youngest of the three Andrews sisters and she watched as both Cassie and Andre fell in love with Sean and Alex Killdaren. During Cassie and Andre's romances, Gemini imagined herself attracted to several titled gentlemen, but none quite met up to snuff. It wasn't until she met the dark "devil" captain of her brother-in-law's ship did she truly meet a man worth his measure, Deverell Jansen. I think Gemini is the most daring of all of my historical heroines. Not only in her sense of adventure (she stows away on a ship), but in her courage to face an evil that could cost her soul, and in her sensual response to Deverell's killer kisses. I was also extremely thankful to be able to write Silken Shadows. I had major surgery done in Novemeber of that year, surgery that if anything went wrong the resulting problems would have been catastrophic. I was supposed to write Silken Shadows before going into surgery and wasn't able to. So making it through the surgery and being able to write so well after it was truly a wonderful blessing for me.

Remember to leave comments, so you can win a signed copy of one of her books! Also, you are going to want to see what she has to say, because she is excited to be involved, so you can ask her questions about any of her novels, her life in Atlanta, etc.

Happy April, everyone...and enjoy Silken Shadows while you enjoy your peaceful time, Between Your Sheets!

P.S.

Almost forgot my question:

How would you react if on the news you heard of a serial killer committing murders from the grave?

I've only read the first book in this series. I really loved the mystery aspect of "Midnight Secrets." I wouldn't know what to think if I heard that someone was committing murders from the grave. With all the paranormals that I read, I guess anything is possible.

If I heard of a serial killer commiting murders from the grave I would think the person faked their death and someone else had been buried in their place.

I would probably think it was a copycat killer. I just don't think something like that could ever happen.

Hey Jenni,

Getting ready for Vegas? :)
I wish that I could join you all again this year.

How many books do you have published now Jenni? I have 5 of Jennifer's books so far. :)

Do you have a commited amount to write?

We had a serial killer here in Milwaukee, so I'd hate to see him come back from the grave. They would have to find a way to make him stay dead. ;#

Hi Jenni
I would not believe a serial killer killing from the grave - I'd think copycat or cohort.

Great to hear from all of you! LOL, so Marla opened up some strong reactions in asking about a serial killer committing murders from the grave. The thing with the paranormal world, when you enter it, is that is has its own set of rules that veer greatly from the reality of every day life. Over the years there have been suppositions about people being possessed and under the influence of evil entities. Even consider the Charles Manson killings and the how much he influenced so many in his group to kill for him. Then there are so many suggestions about Jack the Ripper, who he was, where he came from, and where he disappeared to. Some of those stories do explore the realm of demon possession from the grave. So it may just be one of those possiblities that lurk in the dark shadows of a different realm. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the story.

Jane, Thank you for enjoying the mystery in Midnight Secrets. All of my gothics have a strong murder mystery woven in with the romance! And Cassie and Sean were a lot of fun to write. I hope you have a chance to read about her sister Andrie in Darkest Dreams and then Gemini in Silken Shadows.
let me know if you have any more questions.
Happy reading!

Hmm I think I would be a bit terrified of someone killing from the grave. In the world of the paranormal though anything is possible. I think it would make for a very interesting read.

I guess if I'd heard of a serial killer killing from the grave, I'd think someone was getting revenge for his/her death or continuing in their footsteps!!!
